Rational Rec

Rational Rec is a collaborative, interdisciplinary commissioning agency working with artists from a variety of disciplines to create new work. Full information on the current project, from January - July 2010 is available from the newly relaunched Rational Rec website, or the Rational Rec mailing list.

We will be working with artists Emma Hart, Chairlie Fox and Paul B. Davis in this first commission. Rational Rec is currently programmed with Ceclia Wee.

During the commission, we will be producing three panel disucssion events with the selected artists at a variety of venues around London: our first event, at Chelsea Space on Friday 26 February 2010 is archived and recorded on the Rational Rec website.

In its initial phase, Rational Rec's monthly interdisciplinary arts events ran from October 2005 to July 2008, usually at Bethnal Green Working Men's Club but also in collaboration with Southbank Centre, Whitechapel Gallery and Spitalfields Festival (a full list of all our past events is available on the Rational Rec website archive section).

Our curatorial focus brought the best international artists to London for rare performances of their work, as well as showcasing emerging artists who live in London and the UK.
